Annual report development through cross-functional collaboration and data-driven storytelling
I led end-to-end development of annual reports for Human Outreach Project, a Utah-based nonprofit with international programs. Starting as a collaborative writer in 2017, I evolved into sole project manager by 2018, overseeing everything from content strategy through final production.
My approach emphasized data-driven storytelling—using statistics, impact metrics, and stakeholder quotes to demonstrate organizational growth while streamlining content for improved readability. I managed cross-functional collaboration with international teams across Tanzania, Peru, and Nepal, plus finance and operations departments, to compile comprehensive program information and visual assets.
Working closely with the graphic designer, I guided layout decisions that modernized the visual presentation while maintaining brand consistency. The 2018 report successfully showcased HOP's expanding impact across three countries, improved donor engagement through clearer program outcomes, and established a more professional brand presence for the organization.
This project required balancing multiple stakeholder perspectives, coordinating across time zones and cultural contexts, and translating complex program data into compelling narratives that resonated with donors and partners.
